Season 14 – Hunted in Apex Legends is going well. The many improvements to Legends and
weaponry have given the game a more recent feel than it has in a long time, even though the map
upgrades to King's Canyon appear to be a little greater than the Storm Point updates from the
    previous season.

While bottom-tier components like Mad Maggie and the EVA-8 Auto shotgun have been given
enhancements, the often encountered Valkyrie and C.A.R submachine rifles have had their strength
reduced to more tolerable levels. Although Apex Legends still had some issues, these upgrades are a
    significant improvement.

Speaking of adjustments, the Wingman pistol is one of the Hunted season’s strangest weapon
updates. Although the Wingman has long been a useful sidearm for dealing with opponents at all
ranges, Respawn Entertainment decided to modify it to meet the new weapon meta this season.

    True Sniper Pistol

The Wingman's ammo and magazines represent the strangest alteration. The Wingman's maximum
capacity used to be upgraded by using heavy ammunition and hefty magazines. It now employs
sniper ammunition and sniper magazines in Hunted. As a result, it is the first rifle to utilize these
components that is not a Sniper Rifle.

The Wingman's effective range has changed as a result of these adjustments. The RE-45 Auto and
P2020 handguns cannot engage targets from a greater distance, unlike the Wingman. With enough
experience, it becomes second nature to judge the bullet drop distance and its semi-automatic
nature makes it simple to line up follow-up shots. When combined with the Skullpiercer Rifling
Ammo in Hunted, the Wingman may do tremendous damage if players hit their target in the skull.
The Development of a Competitive Weapon Meta

It only made logical to equip the Wingman with sniper ammunition given that it can compete with
marksman weapons and sniper rifles. Allowing the Wingman to continue utilizing heavy munitions
would place it directly in conflict with the 30-30 Repeater, a weapon that currently performs the
same function as the previous Wingman as a result of recent upgrades. The 30-30 Repeater is
excellent for mid to long-range confrontations because of its built-in Shatter Caps Hop-Up and its
charged and uncharged rounds. The 30-30 may also be outfitted with the Skullpiercer Rifling Hop-
Up, which boosts the damage done by headshots, just like the Wingman can. Except for a lessened
mobility penalty, while shooting down sights, these modifications to the 30-30 Repeater would leave
the original Wingman with nothing special.

Respawn Entertainment has successfully converted the Wingman into a true sniper pistol by
replacing the Wingman's ammunition with sniper ammo. Players can't fire the weapon as frequently
as before because they can hold less sniper ammo per inventory stack than heavy ammo. This
change is welcome given how simple it was to continue firing the Wingman from a distance with a
single stack of heavy ammunition. The Wingman still has its unique selling point—that it was a
potent pistol at almost any range—but it is now more appropriately positioned alongside the
Longbow DMR and 30-30 Repeater in the weapon meta.

Even though the new Wingman modifications may take some getting accustomed to, Apex Legends
will benefit from them in the long run. When using the pistol's sights to aim, players may still strafe
at will and land some brutal headshots from a distance. However, they will need to be cautious
about how much ammunition they still have. The demand for sniper ammunition and
magazines—items that are frequently disregarded—will undoubtedly rise as a result of this.
